Title:  Reciprocity: Reciprocity; pair of cardinals mating in the springtime Cardinals are the

State of Illinois, USA State Bird. They raise their brood together and both

male and female are songbirds. The male is a crimson red, the female a

downy brown. The male feeds the young while the female builds the nest

for the next brood of fledglings.
